  2. Allow website for amount of time per day (eg 1hr per day), not just period of time (eg 7pm to 8pm)

Eg. If facebook is allowed for 1 hr per day, you can visit the website in four 15 minute increments throughout the day, or a single 1 hr session, after which facebook will be blocked. It could also be allowed for 1hr between a certain time period, such as 7pm to 10pm. There are MANY common use cases where this feature would be needed. Imagine you want to watch a bit of netflix every other evening after work for instance. You only know you'll reach home between 7pm to 10pm, but you're not sure of the exact hour. This is…

  4. Block .onion websites

For privacy reasons .onion websites are written in gibberish text & it's difficult to asses what content lies behind the URL.

So it would be better to implement a feature in pluckeye which blocks all .onion sites by default.

  5. Filttering by keywords

HTTPS is literally everywhere, so it's difficult to implement keyword filtering.

However it helps when blocking downloads of softwares especially on a protocol other than https or p2p like ftp, etc.

  7. Would be great to see a debian package of pluckeye on linux or debian servers

Now pluckeye is getting popular. We have a small enterprise & we would like to install pluckeye on ever client machine. But problem comes when pluckeye has to be updated. We have created standard user on every machine for our clients. We have included an entry for apt-get install in the sudoers file so that all the limited users can install a debian package from the repositories mentioned in sudoers file. We have LUKS encryption & GRUB Bootloader 2.02 password protected & BIOS locked with USB Booting disabled with CPU cases locked under surveillance 24/7.

    So it's really stiff for…

  8. ability to delay, but not block, websites

It would be nice if I was able to "delay" the loading of certain websites by say 30 seconds or a user-entered amount. (see the title/hover text of https://xkcd.com/862/) This feature may not be useful as a porn filter, but it would still be useful in cutting down on compulsively checking innocent websites and/or preventing "binges." For me, the big problem sites are YouTube (videos allowed) and Reddit (without vids or pics), which have lots of good information, and are mostly safe from porn (when setup as described), but can also suck me in for hours on end.

  9. Create Android/iOS app for Expedite Pluckeye

If there was an Android/iOS app connected to http://u.pluckeye.net/queue our fellows could faster approve our queued websites, without logging on pluckeye.net from their browsers. The app would display a notification and the helper could press "allow"/"don't allow" buttons or click on the website link to visit it.

It could be called "helpeye" and we could give it even to non pluckeye users, such as friends. It could by linked to our pluckeye machine account through the registration to u.pluckeye.net or with a 2-step verification.

Please vote for this. Thank you.

  10. Allow & use kidz safe search & many similar search engines such as kiddle.co, etc.

Allow http://www.kidzsearch.com on pluckeye. Use it for searching instead of google. It's powered by google itself. It's a very good search engine. Go ahead & try to search porn content, you won't find it.

  11. History of settings changes (eg: when did I remove blocks)

    Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible to have command line option/argument that would retrieve all the changes that have been done to the settings. For example, "20180423 18:05 allow youtube.com"

I posted more details here https://www.reddit.com/r/pluckeye/comments/8ecsdw/is_there_a_way_to_retrieve_pluckeye_history/

I think this could be useful as it would allow me to see when I was in the frame of mind to remove some/all blocks. If I would notice, for example, a pattern that in the evening around 8pm I'd set the delay to 0 and allow youtube (with the current delay of 10 mins), then I would try changing the…

  12. Keywords block with spaces

Please can you add the feature to block searches with specific keywords with both space & asterisk feature like 'fuck me' instead of '*fuck*'. Both asterisk & space feature should be there. Sorry for inappropriate words.

  14. have different delay times to change from blocked to allowed and neutral to allowed

Whenever I want to watch porn, I will simply allow the website for a time so I need to have a high delay time however, this becomes annoying when I discover a new website that is SFW. So I am suggesting the ability to have a different delay time when I am allowing/ reverting a blocked website as to when I am allowing a website which I have never been on. Thank you.

  15. Regex support for pluckeye config

It would be useful if we could set rules in pluckeye using regular expressions, in order to block urls by two or more keywords.

  16. Right click > Block URL

It would be useful if in a page we could block a link in by right-clicking on it, instead of typing the whole command + url in a shell or going on the page to block it from the Pluckeye's menu. Sometimes - in Chrome for instance - a link may directly start a download, without opening any page.

  17. port Abmindicate to Mac OS X

Abmindicate is a tool to drop administrator (i.e. super user / root) priviliges according to a schedule. This allows a user to restrict their "super powers" on their own computer.

If you would like to see this tool ported to Mac OS X, please vote for it here.

A Windows-centric introduction to Abmindicate can be found at http://www.pluckeye.net/abmindicate.html.

  18. resurrect Abmindicate on Windows

http://www.pluckeye.net/abmindicate.html was abandoned because of lack of interest from users. If you'd like to use such a tool, vote for it here.

  20. make it easier to see the list of currently-active rules

    == The problem ==

When using Pluckeye 0.50.4, to see the list of currently-active rules, you must run "pluck export".

This is confusing. The word "export" sounds like it's for exporting data to a file, not for displaying information.

    == Proposed solution ==

It would be good if you could please make "pluck ls" and "pluck rules" do the same thing as "pluck export".

    * "pluck ls" is good for people who like Unix.

    * "pluck rules" is for people who don't know anything about Unix. My only hesitation is that "rules" is a rather-generic term, and if you use…
